Me loe cinco capitulos.

Poker is a psychological trial. It will test you every day. It will test your ability to handle failure, and it will test your ability to accept success with humility and temperance. You cannot hope to succeed in those trials unless you are strong and confident from within. How do you feel with how you play? What do you feel like you have to learn. And are you ready to play today and learn that thing?
If youre new to poker, no doubt youve already seen plenty of poker hotshots with huge egos who throw trash talk and hubris around aplenty. These players are suckers. Every one of them. It doesnt matter how high they are flying today, eventually poker will beat them. They dont understand poker, and eventually their lack of understanding will leave them on the outside looking in.
The best players, the one who stick around for life, are humble. They are skilled, but every day they just want more skill, more knowledge. It doesnt matter whether they win today or they lose, as they will play again tomorrow, and the next day, and every day after that. If they do not win this week, then they will win next week. If they do not win this month, then they will win next month. If they do not win this year, this decade, then they will win next year, next decade. They will learn and acquire skill every day until they are unbeatable. And then theyll get beaten.
Your results are irrelevant. If you simply cant get your brain there, then move down in stakes until you can. Your results are irrelevant. All that matters is if you are better today than you were yesterday. Only then will you be awesome.
Y esto otro:
None of you are no-limit masters. Everyone has more to learn. Even the best players in the world need to keep learning, or soon someone else will take their place.
Youre going to make a mistake in virtually every session. Sometimes youll make several. Sometimes youll make a whopper. Its natural, and if you let it get to you, then youre making another mistake.
Why are you playing today? Are you playing to show everyone how good you are? I hope not. I think playing to learn promotes the healthiest mindset. If you are learning, then its ok to lose. Its ok to make mistakes. And its ok to get stacked. Youre just learning, and tomorrow youll be better for the experience.
Ive written often before about poker psychology and poker as a perpetual learning experience. I play poker to learn. Its how I see the game. And its the method Ive used to gain control over the tilt monster. Tilt is a problem for every player, but when you leave your ego out as much as possible and you permit yourself to make mistakes because youre still learning, playing poker will be a happier experience, your decisions will improve, and your results will eventually show it.
